It's tempting to pack everything and sort it out later. But everything you move takes packing material, truck space, and crew time, and a lot of it ends up in the trash at the new house anyway.
Start with the garage, basement, and storage closets. Old furniture, broken appliances, and equipment you haven't used in years are the easiest wins and usually the heaviest items too.
Sort into three piles: keep, donate, and haul away. Donations can go to local charities in Loudoun and Fairfax counties, and many will pick up larger pieces.
For everything else, book junk removal before or on moving day. We load it onto the truck and take it away, so your new home starts with only the things you actually want.
